Shahrzad Dehmobed
Dorood,
Here is my background, skills, and achievements that I want to be a candidate for serving as a board member for the Zoroastrian community:
My name is Shahrzad Dehmobad Rateshtari. I was born and raised in city of Yazd, Iran. I have been an active member of my Zorostrian community in my whole life as a pioneer. Certainly, participation in most of Zartoshti Functions in different roles such as Presenter, Mc., and even an actress in theatre has been my passion.
After high school, I was passionate to study in my favorite major that was Public Health Science at Yazd University. Later, I was accepted in Shahid Beheshti University of Tehran and achieved my Bachelor Degree of science in Public Health in Tehran. Meanwhile, while I was a university student, one of my social activity was to be an active member of Zoroastrian Sport Commitee at Kanoon Daneshjooyan in Tehran, Iran.
In following my passion, I worked at Shahid Beheshti medical and health management for two years. Especially, my experience in management sector of Iran health care system that included planning, strategy setting and public health management was awesome. In the mean time, I was an active member of AMORDAD. It has been my honor to be one of the first journalists and reporters of AMORDAD since it is one of First Published Zoroastrian Newsleters in Iran. To this end, I am honored that I have experienced variety of social activities and been successful at my career in those golden years of my youth age.
In 2003, I married and migrated to United States of America and resided in Maryland ( east coast ) along with my husband, Kourosh Rateshtari. My first Jon as a yoga teacher taught me how to be disciplined. Later, I continued my study and got my Doctoral Degree as a Doctor of Naturopathy. In the meantime, my husband inspiration and support led me to participate and help more in Metropolitan Zoroastrian Community Center of Washington DC. Afterward, I was elected as a secretary of ZAMWI in 2005 and honored to serve for two years.
Additionally, I, as a Zamwi Secretary, did my best to engage most of the Z community members to participate, socialize, and celebrate most of the zartoshtrian functions. In fact, our goal was to maintain Zartoshti’s Traditions and promote Zaratoshtra’s messages in practice among our Zoroastrian community. However, there was a lack of Zartoshti Temple in Washington Metropolitan Area at that time, we did our best to keep our Zorostrian Culture alive by renting schools, community centers, church, and … though it was not convenient as CA Z center, we did it any way!
Along with our life journey in 2018, my family’s socializing soul motivated us to move from MD to California. Certainly, more engagement in zoroastrian community and being closer to Z family were our main inspiration to move. Since then, I have been an active member of Banovan Group and we organized various functions at CZC. In addition, I have been an active in many Zartoshti groups and functions such as Doghdoo Theatre. As well as, I have been honor to be a presenter, speaker, MC,…at different functions for various groups.
In particular, my expertise in nutrition and promoting healthy lifestyle as a Naturopath was a strong desire to support Sunday lunch for Avesta class. That is why, my husband and I had a pleasure of cooking lunch for Avesta class atendants every Sunday during school years of 2023. Finally, I am interested in becoming a candidate to serve in 23th BOD because I believe serving my community is one of my important tasks as a member of Zartoshti community. By the way, everybody has different potential and talent of leadership, so it brings more creativity and hopefully prosperity to our Zorostrian community.
Finally, my passion and commitment for promoting, growth and success of Zoroastrian community motivated me to be a candidate.
Here is my Vision for the future of the Zoroastrian community and how we can plan to contribute to it’s growth and success as a board member:
Discovering Zoroastrian talents, creating a reference, and engaging more Z participants in our society! Honestly, when we know our resources, we can plane and help each other beter. As a result, it leads to progression in the whole zoroastrian community
Encourage to engage our own human resources and create new programs with affordable cost and energy for each age group. For example, our own human resources can help us with various construction needs or other renewal plans at CZC.
Doing our best to take action instead of talking so we can demonstrate Zaratushtra’s pure wisdom in practice. Having variety of events and functions for different age groups for that reason most of community members can participate according to their interest.
Educate and transfer Ashoo-zartosh Words of Wisdom among our kids
Being a decent practical role model for our kids as a result they will be proud of their ancestors. For that reason, we can expect them to follow our foot steps and maintain the zaratoshtra’s path of ASHA.
Promoting positivity, unity, and hope among our zoroastrian Youth Community. Therefore, we can expect the prosperous life and unity for our Z future generation.
I am looking forward to serving my community so we can enjoy all the prosperity together.
Kind Regards,
Shahrzad Dehmobed Nasrabadi
